Calendula is an easy to grow and oh so cheerful flower for the garden. A member of the Aster family, it grows in temperate climates throughout the world. It blooms in bright orange and vivid yellow blossoms throughout the summer and fall and will readily reseed. It does prefer cooler temperatures and you’ll have the best number of blooms in early summer. If you cut it back after the flush, it will reward you with blooms in the fall.
Calendula is well documented and valuable edible flower that is a must have in the garden for the home herbalist. Raised Roots Farm grows and sells dried Calendula petals, and also uses them in several of our tea and tisane blends.
